My heart hurts, this is just...sad.
But alas, according to the man himself, he's in a better place.
RIP Baatin.
Otherwise known as the 'Breakadawn.'
Rhymefest, also known as Kanye's protege, American Rap Advocate, or 'That Guy in that 'Brand New' video with Kanye, came out with a mixtape dedicated to Michael Jackson with Mark Ronson last year, entitled, 'Man in the Mirror.'
Who knew how pertinent it was?
Here's my favorite gem from it.
Breakadawn, by Rhymefest featuring
In case you didn't notice yesterday's post, this song samples Michael Jackson's, 'I Can't Help It.'
The last is yet to come.
Enjoy!

While researching today's or tomorrow's MJ sample, I came across an oldie but goodie from my childhood. I'm young, so when I was given Michael Jackson's 'Invincible' as a birthday gift, I went berserk with it. One of the songs I remember the most was his 'Break of Dawn.'
And it sorta reminded me of U.N.I.'s remix to their song, Beautiful Day.
Fast-forward a bit 'til you hear it.
But um, yeah.
Enjoy!
RIP Michael Jackson

One of my favorite hip hop jams, because it has such a pretty melody,
De La Soul's 'Breakadawn' samples
Michael Jackson's 'I Can't Help It'.
Ryan Leslie's 'Addiction' pays homage to it.
Enjoy! Especially the last one...(*sigh*)

I didn't notice this one, I had to look it up, it threw me for a loop. (Pun acknowledged)
Just another tidbit of genius from the Neptunes.
Old Dirty Bastard's 'Got Your Money' featuring Kelis,
samples Michael Jackson's 'Billie Jean' (the opening, pack your producer's mind to hear the drum loop)
Enjoy!
RIP Michael Jackson...

I'm running out of things to say about these songs. It's getting harder and harder each time!
uMmmMummmm. these songs are both pretty good.
Kudos to Kanye for using a loop not instantly recognizable, but still pretty iconic.
The Good Life, featuring T-Pain...
samples P.Y.T. by Michael Jackson.
Enjoy!

This sample was so cleverly hidden by one of da mastahssss, Jay Dee, when it clicked in my head I had to shout it out loud, hey, Q Tip's 'Move' ...
samples 'Dancing Machine' by the Jackson 5.
Enjoy.

I don't recall how old I was when I first saw this video. Maybe nothing over twelve.
But I all I could remember from it was the cellphone, the rain, and the singing over the phone. Nothing too complicated right?
Wrong! I don't know how I could forget the crash into the water, the singing underwater, the 'Video Vixen' who shall remain nameless and all of the crazy drama that somehow escaped my mind. Enough with the introduction, just watch and enjoy!
RIP Gerald.
