Shut up, it's back, it's been tough, but deal!
On with the quote!
Lyrically a miracle
Mentally, I'm physical
Massively encryptical
Verbally invincible
These kids wanna battle but their material is pitiful
The only original
Wicked individual
Whenver I rhyme I break it down into syllables
Simply because it's coming straight out of Brooklyn
It sound so out of sight I got the blind people lookin'
It's Mr. Man the act,
Boy, what? You get stolen.
I'll cut your ass in half and leave you with a semicolon!"
-Mr. Man
This whole song is chocked full of dope lyrics (I much prefer the Evil Dee mix tho, but same same) but that one verse is one that makes me feel smart and just as dope as Mr.Man.
Enjoy and Rap Along!

My heart hurts, this is just...sad.
But alas, according to the man himself, he's in a better place.
RIP Baatin.
Whenever I'm down and out, I have to remind myself of that, it really says a lot.
It was hard to decide between this line and this one,
My mind went back to this jam during the onslaught of rain last week.
"It's in the way they move and,
They catch that simple groove and
They tell a story all their own about the human heart alone
I try to get a grip, but I find I always slip
On fingertips, those fingertips, those fingertips
Anyone would do..."
Whenever I hear this song, I keep thinking about a girl in her room, looking out a rainy condensation-ey window...
Well, that's just how my imagination works, what does yours think?

I know I'm early, but I had to get this one down before I forget.
I admire the fact that he uses the correct verb, so many other rappers would've said ,'give a soda' or something, but he used 'vend.' Genius.
Thought I forgot, eh?
Nah, the truth is I had to find a lyric to write that I loved, I always try to force it, you know.
But I like to have it come to me.
Anyway,
-Big Daddy Kane, Ain't No Half Steppin'
I know, I'm late, and for the first time in a while, I feel like I have something to write about in terms of music.
I'm so excited!
I hope I don't forget it!
Um, anyway, this song came up and reminded me about how well I knew the lyrics when this album first came out (1993, I prolly got my hands on it when I was about eight or nine) and I didn't understand what I was saying, lol.
But aqui,
-Queen Latifah, 'I Can't Understand'

It hit me recently that I didn't commemorate J Dilla's day of passing, February 10th. This is how I will atone.
While doing shag dances backstage during a play performance, a friend and I contemplated taking a boom box to the beach, a la shag style, and taking these dances to the masses, as if it was straight out of a movie.
This is one of the songs I think I might play.
I've noticed that I don't give enough info on the artists and songs I feature, I'll be sure to work on that.
Also, a new year's just another day, so let's cut to the chase, shall we?
"We're rollin all strikes,
we're havin little tykes
One is Little Mike the other's Ike I'm sure that you
would like
To hold em, or maybe stroll em on their little bikes
When
they're born, I've sworn, to bring em up right
You know, dope is how I breed
em, beats is what I'll feed em
They'll be healthy like a health nut, I'm sure
you'll shake your butt
(Kick the verse preacher!) and I won't
disperse
Here's my life, Rhymealinda, for better or for worse"
That's the kind of father everyone needs.
I can't imagine how exhausting that editing process for that last verse was, how da hell did they release this?
