The last song I'm going to spotlight today was initially a beat created by the late Jay Dee for his album 'Donuts.' In the wake of his death, the Roots released their album 'Game Theory,' that included a dedication to the producer using said beat. This song was meant for Jay Dee, but I think it is also fitting for this occasion.

Rhymefest, also known as Kanye's protege, American Rap Advocate, or 'That Guy in that 'Brand New' video with Kanye, came out with a mixtape dedicated to Michael Jackson with Mark Ronson last year, entitled, 'Man in the Mirror.'
Who knew how pertinent it was?

While researching today's or tomorrow's MJ sample, I came across an oldie but goodie from my childhood. I'm young, so when I was given Michael Jackson's 'Invincible' as a birthday gift, I went berserk with it. One of the songs I remember the most was his 'Break of Dawn.'
And it sorta reminded me of U.N.I.'s remix to their song, Beautiful Day.
Fast-forward a bit 'til you hear it.
But um, yeah.

When I heard that we lost Michael Jackson, I immediately tried to measure exactly how much we've lost. His influence is unfathomable, and I had no idea how to approach a dedication of some sort. I was left a tad clueless. So I decided, since this blog is mostly hip hop, I'd do a post every day out of this week with a video or song that sampled some of Michael's or the Jackson 5's work.
I figured I'd start today, Saturday, since I'd be away from my computer once again.
